Sustainable Finance Workshop: An EU Taxonomy in practice

The aim of this workshop was to analyse the European Commission’s taxonomy proposal and the work of the Technical Expert Group, discuss the proposal with the financial services providers as well as industry representatives and to explore how such a taxonomy would work in practice.

In the first panel, speakers addressed the process of creating a taxonomy at the EU and national level and its application. The second panel addressed the use of a taxonomy in practice, how the taxonomy would work with national labels and how it would influence the industry. Opening the discussion was Martin Spolc, DG FISMA, European Commission. The panels included members of the Technical Expert Group, industry and the non-profit sector.

The workshop was an opportunity to bring together taxonomy designers on the one-hand and taxonomy users on the other.
