4th EU-Asia Financial Services Dialogue

On 30 November 2017, Afore Consulting organised the 4^th EU-Asia Financial Services Dialogue, which brought together over 120 representatives from the policy making, regulatory, supervisory and financial services industry communities. The 2017 edition, co-hosted with ASIFMA, was held in Hong Kong on the eve of the EU-Asia Pacific Forum on Financial Regulation, which brought together EU and Asian-Pacific regulators to discuss shared issues and exchange on commonalities in resolving them.

Amongst the distinguished speakers were the Vice President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis and Ashley Alder, Chair of IOSCO.

We were also delighted to welcome, James LAU, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury for The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Verena ROSS, Executive Director at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), Rolf STRAUCH, Chief Economist and Member of the Management Board at the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), Toshio TSUIKI, Deputy Secretary General, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), Bruno CABRILLAC, Director for International Relations at the Banque de France, Nelson CHOW, Chief Fintech Officer at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and many other leading financial organisations.
