2nd Annual Symposium on EU-Asia Relations in Financial Services
The 2nd edition of the EU-Asia Financial Services Symposium series took place between 27 – 29 May 2015 in Hong Kong with the theme ‘Promoting Convergence and Investments in EU-Asian Financial Markets’.
This dialogue took place in small group discussions and plenary sessions, as well as in more informal sessions. Keynote addresses and panel discussions also served to initiate and enhance the interactive dialogue.
The event had received support from over 150 selected participants representing various regulatory bodies, renowned academics and financial institutions from Europe and Asia. Among the senior speakers we had Frank MOSS, Director General of International and European Relations at the European Central Bank (ECB), Miguel DE LA MANO, Head of Unit of the Economic Analysis of Financial Markets at the European Commission, Petr JEZEK, ALDE MEP for Czech Republic at the European Parliament, Andres SUTT, Head of Banking at the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), Robert WARD, Head of Financial Services Global Markets of the Trade and Investment Unit at the UK Treasury, Levin HOLLE, Head of Financial Markets Policy Department of Germany’s Federal Ministry of Finance, Manmohan SINGH, Senior Financial Economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Greg TANZER, Commissioner of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), Vincent LEE, Executive Director (External) of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), Naoto SHIMODA, Chief Executive in Hong Kong of the Bank of Japan and many other leading financial organisations.
