2nd Annual Conference on ‘Fintech and Digital Innovation: Regulation at the European level and beyond’

Afore Consulting held the 2nd Annual Conference on ‘Fintech and Digital Innovation: Regulation at the European level and beyond’ on 27th February 2018. This high level conference brought together senior policy makers and industry representatives from across Europe and other international jurisdictions including Yves Mersch, Member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank (ECB), Steven Maijoor, Chair, European Supervisory and Markets Authority, Andrea Enria, Chair, European Banking Authority and Johan van Overtveldt, Finance Minister of Belgium.

It took place to coincide with the presentation of the European Commission Action Plan on FinTech. Speakers explored issues such as possibilities for supervisory convergence and best practices in EU jurisdictions, the role of artificial intelligence in financial services, the place for standard setting in Fintech, and how new technologies such as RegTech can contribute to the effective compliance and enforcement of financial services regulation.
